“Our STEM class is another new initiative that I am proud to share. Mrs. Manninen has been hired as our Art Teacher and our STEM Instructor. She will provide art education the first semester and STEM education the second semester. With our new STEM curriculum called Project Lead The Way, students will experience project based learning activities that involve Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. For example, our fifth graders in the district will be building robots second semester! Several business partners have made this program possible within our elementary schools: Jormac, Empire-Coating, and Bemis. We are so grateful to provide this curriculum to all students Kindergarten through Grade 5.”
